BMW's Latest M4 Competition Convertible Gets xDrive As Standard

Yesterday, BMW unveiled the new M4 Competition Convertible with xDrive, making it the most exclusive model in the M line-up. This is the third variant added to BMW’s high-performance sports cars line-up in the premium midsize segment. With a price range starting from $86,300 (approximately 62,77,500 rupees), this car comes with signature M features, both on the exterior and interior.

The BMW M4 Competition Convertible carries the signature large, vertical, frameless BMW grille, with an M-specific design at the centre, and large cooling air intakes for the engine and brakes. It also gets full-LED headlights with U-shaped daytime driving light at the front as standard.

The 2022 BMW M4 Competition Convertible has a 40 per cent lighter new soft top that makes it better than the hardtop. The soft top can be opened or closed within 18 seconds. The boot space gets an additional 80litres from its predecessor. Along with the increase in boot space, the dimensions of the new M4 Competition Convertible have also been increased. The length, wheelbase, height, and width now measures 4,790mm, 2,857mm, 1,395mm, and 1,887mm respectively.

The 2022 BMW M4 Competition Convertible shares similar design elements as the rest of the M series lineup. The car gets four individual seats, each can be individually customized according to the customers’ preference, by opting for heated M Carbon bucket seats with full electric adjustment.

The M4 Convertible comes with 19-inch alloy wheels at the front and 20-inch alloy wheels at the rear. These wheels are driven by a 3.0-litre straight-six unit putting out 510bhp and 650 Nm of peak torque and are coupled with an eight-speed M Steptronic transmission with Drivelogic fitted as standard, which helps propel this car from 0-100 kph in just 3.7 seconds.
