Based on the Benelli Leoncino 500, QJ Motor unveiled the Race 500 at the Beijing Auto Show. Rumours suggest that this motorbike may arrive in India under the Benelli branding.
Looking at the design of the motorcycle, it has visual similarities to the old Yamaha supersport models. QJ Motor Race 500 sports twin headlights, split seats, and a sharp tail section. the Race 500 seems to be more of a middleweight tourer, rather than a committed supersport motorcycle when we look at the judging by the way the handlebars and rider footpegs are set up.
QJ Motor Race 500 is powered by the same 500cc parallel-twin engine in the Leoncino 500. This motor produces 47.5 PS and 46 Nm of torque. It also seems like the Race 500 is also sharing the same suspension, wheels, and brakes from the Leoncino 500.
What's more interesting news is that the QJ Motor Race 500 may soon arrive in India under the Benelli branding. We have news regarding Benelli trying to be more aggressive in the market with new bikes that comply with the Indian government regulations. But this Superbike is not expected to arrive in India within this year.
We can expect the QJ Motor Race 500 to reach the Indian showrooms under Benelli branding by next year. Currently, the Benelli Lineup in India starts with a price tag of INR 1.89 Lakhs and goes all the way up to INR 5.2 Lakhs. We can expect the price of QJ Motor race 500 to be under 10 lakhs in India.
